april 15th: The lingering frost
A strange turn of the wheel today. While the calendar promises spring, the hills of Puget Sound have retreated into a winter dream. The mountains are heavy with fresh snow, and a rare, rolling thunder echoed through the peninsula this afternoon—a startling sound in the quiet of the farm. I had planned to begin the shearing this week, but the shears will stay on the shelf for a few tides longer. Blodwyn and the Pygora Seven are much better suited to this unseasonable cold
